About the Founder

Meet Charity

Hello, I'm Charity Bennett. I am a certified educator with seven years of experience, certified in EC-6, ESL, Special Education, and English 7 through 12. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and a Master of Business Administration with a minor in General Management, and by the end of 2026 I will complete a Master of Education with a certificate in Principal as Instructional Leader.

My experience spans elementary through high school. In elementary, I taught reading, writing, and math and provided dyslexia support. In high school, I taught Business Education, Teacher Prep, Human Growth and Development, and ACT Prep. In middle school, I taught English in both general education and special education classrooms. I am also a Graduate Fellow at Prairie View A&M University, where I help graduate students with their dissertations and theses, and I have specialized experience in curriculum development, targeted tutorials, and standardized test prep.

I grew up in the small town of Houma, Louisiana, about 40 miles south of New Orleans, and I have called Houston home for 12 years. I am married, with three children and two grandchildren, and I am also the proud mom of a three pound Yorkshire Terrier named Judah, yes, the same Judah who answers your questions on this site.

I love teaching and learning, and I would be honored to build a meaningful connection with you and your child as we build skills and make confidence real at The Writer's Block.
